The senior landscape architecture studio at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) co-instructed by Assistant Professor Isabel Fernández and Visiting Lecturer Jocelyn Gavitt ran a short design workshop focusing on the proposed playground for the linear Creekside Park to be developed along Riverside Drive in Cazenovia, NY. Students visited the site and met with interested community members to develop an understanding of the project's needs and context. They returned two weeks later to present their design proposals and receive feedback. Students' researched precedents and developed diverse ideas for this small site that could fit into the overall trail network in Cazenovia, connect to the library, and bring a unique play experience to the community. As a result of this brainstorming and design process, the class has published this website to encourage community input and discussion.
